Reasoning for the rotation diet
With a rotation diet you can kill two birds with one stone:
- You prevent the development of new food intolerance
If a food is consumed daily or too often, new intolerance can develop. If you consume soyaa products, as an alternative to milk products, for example, and you consume it daily, it can happen that you spontaneously develop an intolerance to soyaa. Obviously, the success of the diet modification would be endangered. Hence, it is so important that your diet varies and is not one-sided, but that you trust in the rotation principle. After all, you don't want to exchange one intolerance for another.
- Errors in the diet modification are not so severe
Obvious: If you consume a food within the principle, the rotation diet which you unknowingly have an intolerance to, at least you don't do so daily. This alleviates the outcome. This does not mean that you can consume foods which you have an intolerance to every fifth day. During the phase of avoidance, you should consequently avoid all incompatible foods, otherwise success cannot be achieved.
Your next step:
Compile your own 5-day menu according to the rotation plan excluding all incompatible foods. This might appear tedious at first, but you will see that it's fun to eat a variety of foods and to do yourself some good.
The positive effect of this meticulous planning: Errors in the diet modification can be eliminated to the greatest possible extent.
Whether you prepare your menu short-term or for an entire week at a time is up to you. Try out the different possibilities; you will soon discover the best alternative for you.
Particularly important for short-term menu planning: Since something different should be eaten everyday, you must remember what you have eaten the previous day. In this case, having a diet journal helps to maintain an overview. This would prevent the consumption of the same food by accident within the 5-day cycle.
